Akon – Chamak Challo (Hindi Film Soundtrack : Ra.One)

“Kareena Kapoor’s item song ‘Chammak Challo’ which international star Akon has composed for SRK’s ‘Ra.One’ has already made its way to the net.

Shah Rukh Khan’s ambitious home-production Ra.One is already creating a lot of buzz, much before its release in the latter half of the year. But the latest on the film is that one song from the film has been leaked and already made its way to the internet. The song we are talking about is the same number which international star Akon was to compose for the film.

While it is a rough cut of the song, which may undergo more polishing before it makes it way to the audio CD; it pretty much gives the feel of the song. Also Akon’s song is the same number on which Kareena Kapoor will be doing an item number in the film. ‘ Wanna Be My Chammak Challo ‘ is the track name and buzz is that Shah Rukh wants this one to be the most happening item-number. Ganesh Acharya has choreographed the number.

What’s surprised us is the fact that how come the song made its way online, even before its audio release is anywhere in the scene. Also there is buzz that Akon will be composing two versions of Chammak Challo – one for the film and another for his personal album. Whether the leaked song is from the film or the album is still unknown though. As compared to Munni and Sheila , Chammak Challo is less heavy in terms of its arrangements but has a catchy feel. “

Another song that girls are gonna sing at the club and guys are gonna quietly sing in their car.

Rihanna isn’t being shy about her feelings for the press in her colorful video for “S&M.” Playing on themes of bondage and the celebrity-hungry paparazzi, the clip, directed by Melina Matsoukas, is a romp through Rihanna’s opinions about the media world. And, she has a very high-profile celebrity blogger featured in the video as her slave.

“I was so flattered,” Perez Hilton gushed to MTV News. “This will go down for me as one of my highlights.”

The video certainly says something in-between glossy setups and flashy costumes, recalling another pop star’s video evolution. “My takeaway from this video was that it was very strategically made to get attention and make a point,” he explained. “It reminded me of Madonna during the ‘Erotica’ phase and the ‘Hollywood’/ ‘American Life’ phase, both of which were controversial.”

However, there’s more to the clip than ball-gagged reporters: It shows a bubbly, fun pop star at her shining best. “What I love especially was that you got to see Rihanna in a new light,” he explained. “We’ve never seen Rihanna like this before, plus it wasn’t too serious, and that’s a great message: You shouldn’t let what others say about you affect you. She’s being all sorts of crazy in the video and it’s like she’s saying, ‘Be who you are and let your freak flag fly.’

“I’m really emboldened and inspired by the message of ‘S&M’ and the movement that seems to be happening. Pop songs can be meaningful songs.”

On set, Perez recalls Rihanna making sure that everything turned out perfectly for the video, co-directing it alongside Matsoukas. “The ‘S&M’ video is very important for Rihanna. She came up with a lot of the concepts, the shots. She was super hands-on because this was her baby: There were messages she wanted to get out there,” he said.

In the video, Perez is on a leash and tied up with tape — and he said he loved every moment of it. “We had so much fun, but let me tell you, I left the ‘S&M’ video shoot bruised and battered and banged up. Even with the knee pads, my knees got scuffed,” he remembered, laughing. “But it was all worth it. I think the video turned out really amazingly well.”

The video makes one big point about the media landscape, and Perez is certainly someone who has unapologetically criticized the singer’s artistic choices.

“It’s no secret that I did not love Rihanna’s Rated R album. I did not love that era, but I thought it was really cool of her to still ask me to be in her video anyway,” he said. “Just like Britney wanted me in her Circus Tour opening video.”

DJ Earworm – United State of Pop (2010)

Yet another installment in what has become an annual New Year’s tradition. It’s the United State of Pop, which mashes up the Top 25 songs of the year, according to Billboard magazine.

In 2010, pop has gone into serious all-out party mode. In 2009 the music was encouraging us to pick ourselves back up after being knocked down again, and to rock out to some great dance music while your at it. This year’s music tells us to keep going now that we’re up and having fun. In fact, the fun seems to be in such overdrive that it borders on recklessness. Usher urges us to ‘dance like it’s the last night of your life”, and Katy Perry wants us to “run away and don’t ever look back”. Even the songs that aren’t about parties have parties in their videos, like this year’s entries from Mike Posner and Lady Antebellum.

It’s a great thing about music that you can leave your worries and lose yourself in the moment. In our current world of dance pop culture fantasy, this takes place at a club, where you can drink, meet the most amazing person you’ve ever met, and where as Ke$ha says, “the party don’t stop”.

Personally, as a DJ performing mostly at raging party-ish events, I can relate. My career path has been crazy lately, and I’m definitely not ready for the party to stop!

So with that in mind I urge you all please…

Stromae – Alors on Danse RMX (f. Kanye West & Gilbere Forte)

Stromae who made tidal waves over about 20 European countries with his dance single “Alors On Danse” just got better,

while at the same time hitting the US market with the recent Kanye West & Gilbere Forte remix.

You’ve seen ‘Ye do it on “American Boy”, and he does it most effectively again with his global expertise,

which many artists aren’t doing right now. Some of my favorite lines include,

“Unfortunately for the rest of ya’ll, I’m way better than the best of all, and even though they focus on just the flaws, still gonna annihilate the festivals”

“live this life like there’s no tomorrow, wake up in Paris with a Russian model”.

Definitely something to add to your playlist for the dance floor.

Cee Lo Green – Fuck You

Helium-voiced Atlanta rap/soul eminence and Goodie Mob/Gnarls Barkley member Cee-Lo has posted a new track, charmingly titled “Fuck You”, on his YouTube channel. And even though Cee-Lo says the title phrase about a million times during the song, it’s not the furious banger you’d expect. Rather, it’s a sunny take on classic soul– way more Gnarls than Goodie.

According to his YouTube page, the song will get a full video next week, and it’ll be for sale in the U.S. and UK on October 4. “Fuck You” is from Cee-Lo’s new solo album The Ladykiller, which also includes “Georgia” and the Band of Horses cover “No One’s Gonna Love You”.
